  • The process generally takes two to four hours.
  • During the procedure, some fat may be removed, as well as excess skin.The incision is placed where it will be camouflaged in a natural crease of the skin.
  • Generally the incision is closed with fine sutures and/or metal clips, which eliminates having to shave any hair from the incision site.


After the surgery is complete:

  • A dressing will be applied to protect where the incisions have been made.
  • Medication will be prescribed, despite the fact there will be little pain.
  • Some degree of swelling and bruising is unavoidable. You may be instructed to use a cold compress to keep it down.
  • Recovery usually takes two to three weeks.
  • Insurance does not generally cover this surgery as it’s elective.
