The word "ultrasonic" means high-pitched sound. The principle behind ultrasonic liposuction is that the high-pitched vibration shakes loose the fat particles making it easier to be vacuumed out of the body. The process is traditionally faster using this method.

This type of liposuction is primarily used for fat removal in hard-to-treat areas.  The most common areas to which ultrasonic liposuction is administered are:

This procedure generally serves as a supplement to traditional liposuction for patients who require more precise body contouring. Another advantage includes the ability to treat areas that have denser fat deposits and to remove larger volumes of fat at one time. It also has the benefit of tightening the skin during the process, making it a great alternative to a tummy tuck to get rid of excess, baggy skin.
